Artist member since 2019
Donny Nie is a current MFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a 2019 BFA graduate from OCAD University. Her paintings and prints underline the exhaustion and exuberance, of overwhelming possibilities in mundanity. The artworks reference sensations and processes of consuming food, to embody a continuous, and subtle shaping of an individual, through the accumulative effect of innocent routine. Nie paints to preserve memories of the ubiquitous and the personal, while celebrating a privacy embedded within the public images.
